you work it out from the first day of your last period, not the day you 'did it' 9 weeks is two months pregnant!

to cat, the reason i work it out from the day i conieve is because thats when the sperm fertilises the egg, i dont count it from the day of my last period because whats the point when there is nothing there. the only reason drs do it that way is because nobody is certain of the day of coneption.

My waste was the first thing to go. It seemed about around your time also. I am very tall and skinny and it was like I gained so much weight the first trimester. I am 5' 10 and weighed 134 and by like 12 weeks I was at 150!!! Now Im at 19 weeks and slowed down on weight gain 2 tri. It sucks because Im also carrying like a watermelon, in my waist and I feel like I have major back fat!!! I wish I carried more like a basketball. Its weird though because im barely showing in the belly, its like all around my waste! Oh well I just hope it doesn't get too much worse!!!!!!!!

I am 9 weeks, 4 days pregnant. My clothes are tight. My waist has definitely grown and I gained 9lbs already! I feel fat. I feel everyone's joy and pain.

i have been om loads of due date calculaters and i get a different date nearly everytime from the 24/01/06 to the 28/01/06 but my dr told me the 24th, but i think i will just wait till i go for my first scan because the date will probably change. with my first i got given november the 5th by dr and then the 7th by the hostpital but it didnt matter anyhow because i ended up getting induced on the 18/11/05 and had a c section on the 19/11/05. im quite worried about a rupture if i try for a natural birth. i am 5 weeks pregnant i hope it doesnt drag like the last one.

When I have my first appointment with the midwife should my husband come with me? Would like him to take a active roll while he iss willing, but unsure if he would just be sat in the waiting room while they do the blood tests and stuff. Should I wait until the scan? I thought just in case they think anything is wrong and I need to go to hospital! or they send me straigt away for a scan, I do not want him to miss out!

I'm so happy to hear that I'm not the only one whose clothes are tight, tired, cranky and b___bs hurt! I knew the tired, and sore b___bs were normal, but I have been really bummed about the weight gain. I've gained about 3-4 pounds and I'm 6-7 weeks and my clothes all feel tight! So, happy to hear I'm not alone!

Hi Jordana, glad when we are a bit more bigger though hey! then people won't thing I'm just a bit porky belly! hey maybe it's twins? ahhhhhhhhh! at least when I'm bigger people will give a seat up for me on the bus! No more standing or having to ask old ladies to move there bag!

I am 5 weeks 6 days along and just started waking up in the middle of the night with an upset stomach. I have not grown that much, just a little belly that is all. I guess it depends on what month you use for counting your weeks. I would say 6 weeks could be 2 months.

gemma - June 1

how can 2 months be 6-9 months it has to be one or the other or inbetween. 1 of may to the first of june is one month, there is not 4 weeks in a month anyway

Melissa - June 2

I too am 6 weeks pregnat and I am huge. I have to byu new pants already.

yup - June 2

Same thing happened to me in the beginning of my pregnancy. I lost my waist right away. Now I am 20 weeks and slowed down on weight gain 2 tri. Lots of really skinny girls will put on weight in the 1st tri, so dont worry.

i'm 6 weeks pregnant... 3rd child :( i'll make it somehow, but anywho... it's ridiculous saying you can't fit your jeans @ 6 weeks!!! I hate maternity clothes... i wore my pre-pregnancy jeans up until my due date with my 2nd baby with a hair band looped through the b___ton hole and wrapped around the b___ton. i figure if you buy clothes to grow into, you'll feel not as guilty about your eating binges and grow more than you want to. stay away from sugars, a lot of carbs, and processed foods (not including cheese). eat whole grain breads and pastas, no gravy... fight the cravings so you don't keep unwanted weight.

I'm also 6 weeks and I am also starting to show. I have a little boy and when I was pregnant with him i didnt show untill my 4th months. So I am really pleased to hear im t=not the only one showing at 6 weeks. Good luck everyone.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Exciting, isn't it? And also a bit nerve-wracking... I am 5 weeks pregnant from the point of conception and I am definitely "boxy" in the belly area (bloated). I was unsure if I was really getting bigger or if I was just relaxing more because I thought "why try to suck it in now?" The only discomfort is that my b___sts are unbelievably sore - especially when I lay down on my side. And they've grown quite a bit, but I don't mind the torpedo enhancement. Take care of yourself and your little-one-to-be!

Hello, I'm six weeks as well. You are 6 weeks but according to the method that Dr.'s use yes, you are really 8 weeks. They add 2 weeks. It goes way back to a formaula that they used to determine gestational age before ultrasounds were available. The technique goes like this: Ona 28 day cycle-figure out the 1st day that you bled on your last period, add 7 days to that & subtract 3 months. Add one year & you'll have your due date. :) Hope this helps.
