I am wondering if this is ib? I have not had a period in about a year or so. I haven't been on any kind of bc since then. I have low progesterone and it is supposed to be difficult for me to get prego without fertility pills. My husband and I had s_x on Aug. 4 and 5. About 7 days later I began to have a brownish, pinkish, and a little red discharge. It is ONLY on the tp and I don't need to use anything for it. It has been going on for 4 days now. I used the bathroom earlier today and a few tiny clots/lining was in the water but other than that just a little on the tp. I though it could be my body trying to start but I think if it was af it would be heavy since I haven't had one in so long. I have never spotted like this before. Can anyone help?

I think i would get a second opinion about low progesterone.you'll need hormone therapy, not fertility pills. Progesterone doesnt have any effect on your period really, Progesterone will rise slightly after ovulation and even more if your egg gets fertilized and implanted, but by then you are basically pregnant. I'm guessing that you are still ovulating? so you should be having a period because your egg is not getting fertilized or implanted due to low progesterone. If your doc wants to put you on fertility pills, its probably because you are not ovulating regularly.

also honey, there are so many other things your body uses progesterone for, like brain function, skin and cell growth, bone building, thyroid function, and blood clotting, just to name a few. Have you had several miscarriages? because recurrent miscarriages are linked to low progesterone, but i ve never heard of the inability to get pregnant or have a period linked to low progesterone, since levels dont start to rise until you are pregnant.

i would strongly get a second opinion, because if your levels are so low that you cant get pregnant ,either the doc is wrong or you have many more things that are wrong with you than you think. like i said before. progesterone is used throughout your body, and if he is right, your whole body is suffering and could be very very sick.
