ive been on the pill a week last saturday, me and my boyfriend had unprotected s_x. it says when you take the pill if you take it the first day of your period you are protected against pregnancy immediately (i took the pill on the first day of my period)so am i covered ?

S.C. first off, if you read the package of bc pills, you would know that you start the pills after your monthly cycle, not the first day of it. Secondly, nothing is a 100%. For all who wrote am I pregnant, take a test, no one can tell you if you are or not.

im on the combined pill and i did read the booklet, i had 2 choices, if i took it the first day of my period it said id be protected immediately, and it said if i chose to take it when i am not on id have to have at least 7 days of the combined pill in me. i just wanted to know if anyone else had taken it the first day of their period and had unprotected s_x up to a week later and didnt get pg ?

I was told that I should use extra protection up to like 2-4 weeks after starting the pill, so that your body can adjust to it correctly.

College girl - By college age you should be old enough to understand the way you get pregnant. Standing near him is NOT going to get you pregnant. If he ejaculated near your v____a, that may be possible. Your period could be late for a number of reasons, stress being one of them. As far as being queazy that could be anything also.

Christina - It is possible to be pregnant and still get a period. As for how can you tell....Take a TEST. That is the only way you will know. Or, go see a Dr. for a blood test

my boyfriend and i were having s_x and he was wearing a condom. i am not on the pill. the condom broke about 2 minutes into it and he pulled out right away. we looked at the condom and saw no signs of come anywhere, and i was on the last day of my period. is there any chance i could get pregnat from this?? thanks

Penelope - It is not often that people get pregnant on the last day of a period, because you have already ovulated and there is no egg. I could be wrong though. There is always pre-c_m the includes sperm too, so just because there was no c_m doesnt mean there was no pre-c_m. I would call your doctor let him know of the situation, and get on some birth control pills.

Tasha - Have you had s_x within the past 2 months, that would make you think you were pg? Do you normally have regular periods? If you have had s_x go to the Dr and get checked out. If your periods arent regular maybe the Dr can put you on a birth control pill that can regulate them for you.
