I had my period to weeks ago, i had unprotected s_x and bled for less then 3 hours, i thought i might of gotten by period but it went away. Why did i bleed and could i be pregnant?

I have spotting brownish blood for about a week on and off. I've been on the patch for four years and it says it's 99.9 percent effective?! I'm always regular with my priod with a med. flow and only brownish blood at the end of my period. I took a ept and it was neg. I've called my doc and she told me to wait another week, until i test again. i'm having lower back pain and felt bloated but no breats tenderness or vomiting. I'm worried that i may have a misscarriage because i work with alot of harmful chemicals. I know if i am pregnant it would still be a blessing. Should i get a blood test done immedately to find out or hold on and wait a week to test with urine. my doc said i won't know for sure until i am about six weeks .I should be 4 weeks if im right. I am scared and very confused on what my birth control may do to the pregency
