Krissy I am wondering can a blood test be negative and you still can be pregnant.I am asking because my last period was January 2 and now it's been 2 months since my last one.I went to the doctor to take a urine test and it came back negative so I was told take a blood test,which I do on Monday.I am hoping yes(positive).Help me out.If the test come back negative do I still have a chance of being pregnant?

I am five weeks late and my blood test came back negative, could I still be pregnant? And the funny thing was I started cramping at the same time my period supposed to have came on in February.

Keisha did you take a urine test?If not do that to be sure of your results.Because I took a urine test and it was negative,so I was told to take a blood test by the nurse and I do that Monday.

I have a question. I am 5 weeks late for my period. I have taken 4 HPT's. the firt 1 I took came back Positive. I then got 2 negative results and the last one was positive. I wnet to the DR. and had another negative urine test. I then got a blood test and it came back negative. Still no period. Could I be pregnant? Can you get a false negative on a blood test?

I tok the blood test one week after I missed my cycle. To this day March 13, 2006 I stil have not had a cycle since January 27, 2006. So could I have gotten pregnant two days before my perid suppose to came on in February27, 2006, which will not show up just yet because I wouldn't be that many weeks.

I took a quantative blood test March 4th and it was negative. A week and a few days later. I took 3 hpt for three straight days, and all of them came up positive right away and was VERY dark. So either the blood test was wrong, or I have a Very high hcg level to be a few weeks preggo. I will find out Monday how far along I am and if infact the blood test was wrong.

Hey all. I took the First Response Pregnancy Test, the one that detects hcG like, 5 days before your period is supposed to arrive. I took one and within seconds it was positive. I took another the next day, and the same thing happened. So doctor's office on Tuesday here I come. I took Plan B by the way-and it DIDN'T work!!! I have every pregnancy symptom (including no period!!!) possible...plus two pregnancy tests to prove it. *sigh*

Oh! And, before I forget to mention it-home pregnancy tests are designed to detect hcG in a woman's urine stream-we're talking high levels. If it's coming out negative, it's quite possible that either you aren't pregnant or there isn't enough of the hormone yet for the test to detect it. I guess thats what freaked me out the most. Knowing I took the test when I was one day late and it showed up rapid fire like that. Just very...unexpected? Yeah. That's the word!

I am having the same issue. I am 9 days late and I have elevated basal body temperatures as well (which is a sign of pregnancy) I have taken multiple hpt with neg. results. I took a qualitative blood test today and that was neg. as well. So, now I have to wait and see if my period actually comes. I was told to retest if I don't get my period by the end of the month. Update! I had my ultrasound yesterday and they told me that I was 6 weeks 1 day pregnant. So, at the time I had my quantative blood test , I was actually 6 days pregnant! It takes up to a week past conception to show up in a blood test. So, it is possible to be pregnant and have a negative blood test, but only within a week. Hope this helps!

I WAS ONE MONTH LATE FOR PERIOD, SO I WENT TO THE DOC AND HAD A URINE TEST AND A BLOOD TEST DONE BOTH WERE NEGATIVE. THEY ROLD ME TO COME BACK THE NEXT DAY TO HAVE A PEVLIC EXAM IT WAS NEGATIVE. NOW I'M 2 MONTHS LATE WENT BACK TO THE DOC HAD A URINE TEST DONE AGAIN AND THEY TOLD ME I WAS 9 WEEKS PREGNANT.

I would like to tell you my story. First I should start by telling you my son was a result of 4 ivf's and 5 yrs of trying. He is 19 months old and was just weaned off 2 months ago. I had no periods in the time I was b___stfeeding until I started the weaning process. I had 3 periods in a month and a half, then for two months since Jan nothing. I called my ob March 7, 2006 because I have had no period and needed to do some testing before I could do my next frozen cycle of ivf in April. She suggested I take a hpt before she prescribed provera to induce a period. We joked about it being positive. I purchased a digital ept test and to my suprise came back positive. Went to the hospital the same night for blood test , came back negative. Called my fertility clinic next day told me to come there for another test because their blood test measures less than 5. Also negative, they prescribed provera and I started it the next day. I went in for a physical March 16, 2006 and had blood drawn and asked my primary for another hcg test for the hell of it, even though i had only 2 pills left of 10 to take. I received a phone call the next day telling me my test was positive and I was very pregnant.. I was so confused and shocked I really had not expected it to change!!!!! Called both my ob and my fertility clinic and they were in shock!!! Went in for another hcg to make sure it was doubling and it was. Went in on March 20, 2006 for ultrasound and they could not see anything because too early 5wks 3days, resecheduled for tomorrow, hoping for the best... Also I had taken a 23 day test after my last period on Jan 18, 2006 to see if I had ovulated came back negative, according to my ultrasound and calculators I ovulated over a month after my last period. Yes to make a long story short, yes you can still be pregnant and have a negative blood test, mine was 11/12 days after conception.
