I am a 27 year-old female seeking to adopt a child between birth and one year of age. I own my own home on .75 acre where the little one could grow up gardening and watching the changes of the seasons reflected on the surrounding mountains. I have two dogs who enjoy being goofballs with the little ones that are currently in my life, and in the next year, plan to complete the coup and expand my gardening so that more of the food on the table can be guaranteed to be freshly grown, hopefully with the help of those small hands.
I grew up competitively swimming and still love time on the water and outdoors. Most of the summer, I spend my spare moments kayaking or hiking. In the winter I tend to maintain hobbies of long hours snuggled up reading, crafting, and singing. I grew up very musical and released a CD not long after high school. The idea of touring, though, was not for me, so I have kept music alive in local avenues, and continue to write and sing.
I am located near an amazing network of family and friends with a handful of little ones already in the family for playmates, and capable, consistent confidants and babysitters available in my parents. have been a teacher for the past six years, and while I have greatly enjoyed the experience of shepherding other's children, I feel I am ready and hopeful to find a little one to raise as my own. I spend a good deal of time caring for my "niece" and "nephew" (2.5 and nearly 1, though, not biologically related) and find that they bring a great deal of joy into my life in ways that I might not have considered without them. I love spending hours teaching them little songs, working on puzzles, or just being silly. There is no need for television when there are forts to be made, books to be read, and adventures to be had. I have been honored to keep them for overnight stays and even to take them to Disneyland. There is nothing like the light in a child's eyes when they notice the stars, and can name them, or finally accomplish the task of locating the perfect puzzle piece or constructing that tower of blocks. Though Ellie and Eli are not biologically related to me, I love them fiercely and treasure the moments I have with them.
I have an amazingly blessed life, with a remarkably tight-knit group of family and friends, and I would like the chance to see that grow with a little one. I find that, in loving the other little's I have come in my life, I do not need a child to share my DNA to share my heart, so if there is a little one in need of a warm, loving home, where they can be raised to know the wonder and beauty of life and all that they are, then I would like the chance to provide that for them. That is why I wish to adopt.
If you have any info to help in this process please don't hesitate to respond.
Thank you.
