Hi everyone. I'm 5 months along now and I don't see my doctor for a few more weeks, but I wanted to get on here to see what everyone else thought about my situation. I work at a grocery store in Florida. Today I got into an argument with my manager today because I refused to go out and push in shopping carts at the end of a 9 hour shift in 90 degree weather. She said I was using my pregnancy as an excuse to not work and I needed a doctors note. Now I'm not one to complain, and I have been doing my job which is cashiering and customer service for the past 5 months working 40+ hours a week. But lately the hours and the work is starting to take a toll on me and I don't know whether I am in the wrong here or if she is. I just wanted to get some opinions before I go and ask my doctor if I should be put on restrictive duties.

Go and get a Drs note and also you might want to check into your employee policy handbook and possibly contact your HR represenative in your region. I personally think that is rude of her to talk to you like that in that matter and also to ask you push carts in like that! I to live in Florida and its to hot for a pregnant woman to push in carts..
