BF TTC Brown Spotting Pregnant

My husband and I have a 6 month old baby who we are currently br___tfeeding and we are trying for our second one because we want our children to be close together in age. For the past 3 days, I've been having on and off brown discharge/spotting when I wipe. My son sleeps through the night, I have had periods since the birth of our son, and he also has solid foods as well. I was wondering what the chances of being pregnant would be and what else this brown discharge could be caused by.

Hi KayKayAndKo, The best advise I can give you is that a trip to your Doctor may be in order. By the sounds of it you are having your monthly, even though it is very light. This is common when bf-ing because the hormone prolactin is being produced. This helps with milk supply, but also prevents the release of eggs (in most cases), most nursing mothers will not release eggs during the time they are b___stfeeding. I would recommend talking to your Dr. before making any decisions/changes to your current method. Congrats and Good Luck!

It sounds to me like you may be possibly pregnant..but an hpt or blood test would help confirm this. I am currently b___stfeeding my lo and am 6 weeks pregnant. I have also had 2 losses recently I conceived while my lo was 7 months and also the last 2 cycles one of which was a chemical pregnancy the other was a loss at 8 weeks. With my current pregnancy I spotted at around the time my af would have come..let me know how things work out!
