Hi everyone! I really don't want to sound like a bad mom by asking this question, but I kind of want a glass of wine tonight....I just started a new job and would really like to wind down with a small glass after Autumn is asleep. So...is that ok?

I don't see why not. I have a gla__s of wine a few times a week and it doesn't seem to be causing any trouble. In fact, I had one last night when we went out to dinner. :)

Sure...the general rule of thumb is that if you can't feel the effects of the alcohol, it's out of your blood stream; so a gla__s after she goes to bed should be perfectly acceptable! Enjoy!

I've heard you need to pump it out before b___stfeeding again. I think after two hours. Anyone else ever heard of the "pump & dump" rule?

I've heard of the pump & dump but that is only if you drink so much that your liver doesn't have time to metabolize it. If you can't feel the effects, then neither can baby.

You can pump and dump if you want to, but my pediatrician told me that it really isn't necessary unless I get rip-roaring drunk.

Here's a good resource that tells you how long it takes for alcohol to clear your b___stmilk: http://www.cfpc.ca/cfp/2002/Jan/vol48-jan-clinical-1.asp

WINE is good for you. I had a gla__s last night, but keep it red wine only.
