Worried Mom - January 2

If feel empty, no let-down, and hear no swallowing he's probably not getting any milk, right? It's not like this all the time, but it's happening more often and I'm worried.

How old is he? My girl's 5 months and I no longer feel the let down or get the "full" feeling except first thing in the morning, before she nurses. Is he still acting hungry? Watch his neck just behind his earlobe - you should see that pulsing if he's swallowing. Also, another thing to keep an eye on is his soft spot - it will dent in when he's dehydrated. (That's a good way to tell if he's crying from hunger or from something else while he's on the liquid diet)

just want to say about the soft spot, i went to hospital with jaz when her soft spot was low and pulsing (other prob too) doc said it only gets real sunken when baby is seriously dehydrated he said like almost unconcious. I think the same as you sometimes but if they keep putting on weight they are getting enough, also midwife said early on if baby settles and is calm for about an hour after feeding they are getting enough, if they sleep well definatly get enough, id go see someone though as worrying wont help your letdown or supply, igo to a b___stfeeding support group, try find one near you its excellent
