If I pump my br___tmilk into a bottle for my baby and put it in the fridge so that my husband can feed her if i'm not there, how long will the milk be good in the fridge? and they say do not heat milk in the microwave so how should my husband heat the br___tmilk? I know its suppose to be room temperature, but what is he suppose to do, let it sit out till it reaches room temperature? won't the milk go bad? Anyone with any answers please let me know...thanks.

You can leave b___st milk at room temp (68-72) for 7 hours, This is fresh milk, just pumped. You can leave b___st mil in the fridge for 8 days. My husband heats up the mil using a bottle warmer or a pan of warm water on the stove while I am at work. Once you freeze the b___st milk and thaw it out, you can't leave it at room temperature at you must use it within 24 hours. Hope this helps. I have an Ameda Breat pump and they sent me a magnet with all the update milk storage guidelines.

It all depends the time of day. After he eats at 6am I get about 6 oz, and at work I pump twice a day and get between 10-14 ozs.

TO D, WOW HOW DO YOU GET THAT MUCH? HOW OLD IS YOUR LITTLE ONE? MINE IS 8 WEEKS AND SHE EATS EVERY 2 HOURS DURING THE DAY SO I DONT GET MORE THAN 1/2 TO 1 OZ DURING THE DAY PER PUMP SESSION. HOW DO I GET MORE? HOW MANY HOURS ARE YOU WORKING AT WORK? IM THINKING OF RETURNING TO JUST WAITRESSING FOR 5 HOURS PER NIGHT A COUPLE TIMES A WEEK, I WONT BEABLE TO PUMP SO I DONT KNOW HOW IT WILL WORK OUT. I CANT GO MORE THAN 4 HOURS WITH OUT HER EATING OR PUMPING.

My fifth just turned 6 months. I stay at home with my kiddos, but have had to go out of town for a weekend here and there. I always put my children on a no less than three hour schedule, from birth. When they start sleeping through the night, I pump in the morning so I have a supply on hand, but I just pump one b___st in the morning, since they need to eat, too. I usually get 4 oz per b___st. Are you getting enough water in your diet? And what about supplements and food quality? You should be able to go 3 hours, and sometimes if you can't, its due to poor diet. You shouldn't have to be disturbed in the night to pump....you need the rest!!

To Heater:
I have a three week old baby and I actually have to pump before I feed her or else my milk comes out far too fast for her to eat. I also will drip all over her if she takes her mouth away from my b___st. When I pump I get a minimum of 2-4 ounces and then there is still plenty to eat.
I don't know if you are using a manual or a automatic, I imagine an automatic may be easier to use to do this but a manual does similar, make sure and ma__sage your b___sts as you pump, I also squeeze certain areas to get more milk out, it helps because the nipple is not the only place that milk resides, it especially helps if you have clotted milk (or hard spots) in your b___sts.

I have heard that you can keep it up to a week in the fridge. Up to 4 months in your freezer or 6 months in a deep freezer (those you would run under warm water to thaw first).
With the refrigerated milk your husband can heat it in the bottle by boiling water in a pot. If you stick it in when you turn the flame on it will be tepid about the time it starts to bubble (the water in the pot, not your b___stmilk).
I hope that this helps! Happy Pumping!
