ive been told this is let down as its after i feed not during, but sometimes its so stingy i need to take paracetamol, is this normal?

I get a tingling feeling (like pins and needles) while I'm b___stfeeding (in both b___sts) and sometimes when I'm not...also when I get goose bumps sometimes (I know it's probably unrelated). Although it's uncomfortable it's not painful, so I would ask your midwife or doctor about this, especially if you are October lisa as I'm pretty sure you're tough and wouldn't just take paracetamol for normal pain...Good luck and keep us posted

hi Ranya yes its me, i dont take it often, the parecetamol, but it really hurts sometimes, like when you get real shivery cold but it hurts in my b___sts, i think its let down reflex, but its so strong, i asked doc and she said its normal, ive already had thrush and mast_tis and they dont think its that but the docs seem so bad at diognosing, i think alot of the time other women who feed know better,

Eventually it goes away.. around my 4th month letdown just felt like.. a release? Not stingy or tingly any more. at first, that "pain" almost convinced me not to BF!

How can I get my milk supply back up again??? I have done more bottle feeding than b___stfeeding and i want to start b___stfeeding more now. Will my milk start to come in more if i start b___stfeeding more? also any good tips for pumping. i have the avent hanual one, and i usually only get about an ounce in 15 minutes....?????????

lisa - December 18

hi ? yes b___stfeeding works on supply and demand so you will need to increase the ammount you feed over a week and your milk will increase, about pumping, ive got the same pump and can only get an ounce but havent practiced much, i was told do it in the bath and keep trying, one friendly tip, if you want more people to reply then put your own question then others will see it, my question i dont think that many people will look at, whereas your question is more common :-)

Lisa - this is a LONG shot...my aunt had incredible pain during her letdown while she b___stfed all 4 of my cousins...finally, after the 4th one, she decided to see a doctor about it, and it turned out that her b___sts were full of little tiny cysts...the largest one was about the size of a grain of sand, so she never felt them during b___st exams; they were all benign, but there were so many of them, they interfered with her milk ducts, causing the pain while b___stfeeding. I really really really doubt that your pain is caused by cysts, but wanted to share the story.

thanks jaime, ill remember that, i went to doc who hasnt heard of nipple vasospasm but after reading up agreed i had it and has give me nifedipine for it, if it doesnt work then ill look more into cysts

Jamie - December 20

You know, I just read that article on vasospasms, and it led me to read about Raynoud's syndrome...wow, based on the symptoms, my DH has that...I'm gonna make him go to the doctor and get it officially diagnosed. Lisa, any news?

lisa - December 21

doc had never heard of it, but looked it up and agreed i had it, gave me nifedipine for it, which would be same for your dh jaime, i seem to be a bit better
