hi girls... my baby is two mos old and will NOT take a bottle... I've tried just about everything. This weekend my mother in-law wants to have me leave the house while she tries to give her a bottle. she thinks that if im not around and she doesn't have any other optioins she will take it. i know my baby will scream and scream...i'm very worried about this idea. does it work? i don't know what else to do!!!

Try it. Sometimes it works. Some of my children never did take a bottle, though.

it's worth a try. alot of the time if baby knows mom is around they will refuse the bottle. so long as you know your MIL will be paient and gentle and not get frustrated then i think your daughter is in good hands. set up a time frame that you are comfortable with, like, give her an hour with the baby then come home. my daughter never did take a bottle, but we did fine with exclusive nursing.

Have you tried some different shaped/textured nipples? My guy refused the Gerber "especially for newborn" slow-flow nipples. (They're tiny and I'm NOT!) A larger nipple on the bottle (also slow flow - that's important) did the trick.
