I am due at the end of May. My sister in law will be done with her Medela pump by then. She has offered to let me borrow it so that I dont have to spend $300 on a decent pump. Is this okay to do? Should I just buy new attachments, or can that even be done? Any recommendations?

I also have used my sister's pump but it broke down! So I bought one of my friends pumps off of her, I just cleaned it really good and I don't see anything wrong with it but I wouldn't of bought a used pump off of someone I didn't know... Be smart and go for it but beware cause my sister's medela pump broke down on me and I took good cae of it and she wasn't mad or anything I just felt bad....

follow all the cleaning advice on the pump's paper work and you should be fine. i'd suggest new attachments, you can find them on the medela web site, they arent that expencive.

I am sure it is fine if you follow the instructions for sterilizing the equipment or buying new attachments for it. I say this beacause My mom-in-law is a lactation consultant. At the hospital where she works they rent out pumps.
