i know the post is old, but there are still others looking for answers ... so ... not sure about the shots or pills or tea. But the fact that the mom was expressing a little to relieve pain was just prolonging the agony. What I did was had hubby tie a huge towel around my b___sts as tight as possible. Relieves the pain. Didn't think of the tight sports bra but that might work too.

Barb, I'd get a second opinion, cause I know a LOT of women who b___stfeed while pregnant, including my own mother.

I b___stfed my daughter until she was 20 months. I stoped b___stfeeding her 4 months ago. The engorgment went away, but when I squeeze my b___st, milk still comes out. Is this normal? Did this ever happened to anyone?

my doc told me to take sudafed along with a tight sports bra, cold cabage leafs, and ice. no heat not even in the shower. and if you want it overfast as it can be no way express!!!! it will start all over. unless you feel like your getting a b___st infection. and you won't think you'll know! but then you need to call your dr for antib.they even said you can bind them. i wasn't about to because i have implants and they don't smush very well. but if your gonna bind still do cabage and ice remember no heat it make your body want to make milk. and if you take the sudaffed you can not feed the baby so make sure your ready. and remember every bodys differant so just be patient.

i've heard that keeping b___st lifted not hanging and binded tight together helps with the pain and slows the milk flow

I stopped feeding my son on Sat, it was hurt but I thought it was ok. On Sun....God!!!! It was severe hurt, I can't even move or lift my hand, I was crying, then my husband knew from other people that SUDAFED can help so I took 1 pill + 2 pills of Paracetamol (to relieve painful) together and you know? It was unbelievable, after 30 mins, that painful was gone and i am feeling better everyday. And no need to pump milk out to relieve painful too so it can help to dry up more quicker. I don't know it will work for yu or not cos each one is different but you can try cos it's work for me. I know how hurt it was so I think this can help...just try ! :)

you can b___stfeed while pregnant. i've only heard of you uterus contracting AFTER you have a baby. i've b___stfed all my babies while pregnant (3 times).

I asked my dr about the shot becuase my baby didn't take to the gradual weaning and we had to stop cold turkey. Apparently they no longer give the shot due to blood clots and other negative side effects. However, my dr said to NOT PUMP (I know, it hurts), bind yourself with a t-shirt or towel (I find a pre-pregnancy tank top works very well, use ice packs, and take Motrin or something along those lines. Good luck! I'm 5-6 days into this and still haven't dried up...but it is getting more comfortable daily.

i just weined my 7 month old this week, i got down to one feeding a day, then put a tight sports bra on and binded myself with an ace bandage. had alot of pain the first two days, going on 5th day now, much better, still taking motrin. they dont use the pill anymore cause long term studies showed birth defects in later pregnacies.

I am still nursing my daughter Izzy and she is 14 months old. Two days ago I planned to stop b___stfeed her but somehow my b___sts felt little pain so I decided to feed her. Can anybody help me and tell me how can I stop the b___stfeed and without feel the pain? I would need a help for this! it is my first time to b___stfeed my daughter and need to stop it now. Thanks

I'm going through the transition - one thing I've been doing that helps is ma__sage. If you can get your husband to do it (which usually is no problem!), it is fun for them and requires no effort on your part. It still hurts but the pressure kind of takes the edge off.
