I had the exact same problem, my daughter was 6 months before I tried something that honest to God works. You are going to feel a little sad because this will involve baby crying a little! But trust me it all helps in the end. What you do is go into a quiet place in the house, it has to be dark. You can also play soft music in the background if you find it helps baby sleep. 1)You take baby, swaddle the baby in a receiving blanket. 2) Hold baby close into your body as if you were to nurse him/her to sleep. 3) Have your pacifier and place it in babies mouth. 4) Genitally bump babys bum with your hand as if to burp him counting one before each bump. Making a SHHHH sound if you want to! Do not rock or baby will get use to the rocking and depend on it! Baby may cry for 10 - 20 minutes. It is hard but it does work! It broke my heart the first time but after a few days I just set my little precious girl in her crib with a pacifier and she fell right asleep.! If it does or doesn't work let me know! But I know it will if you do it all in the order I had said.

I've nursed all my kids to sleep for as long as they needed. They are babies for so short a time. I look at my teenagers and still see their sweet baby faces.
