There is no one "best way" - it all depends on your lifestyle. Eat healthy, avoid sugary foods like candy/soda, avoid empty calories like fast food; stay active, don't just sit on the couch channel-surfing, etc.

Cardio and more cardio!!! I just had a baby two and half months ago and I've been walking on the treadmill on incline and have been seeing results!! Good luck to ya!

My guy is only 4 1/2 months and all I can do right now is walk. But I carry him in a snuggly carrier and I get an extra workout! When he is older and can sit alone for a while I will start my free weights again. Muscle burns more calories than fat. Free weights are great to do at home. Pay attention to your form. Also I do sit ups right now sometimes with my babe if he's fussy. If you can buy some clothes that fit you. If you look good you will feel good and because you feel good you will lose weight. Don't wear mat clothes it's too depressing.

A good start is not to eat fat. Cut out fat from animal products meats, cheese and poultry. Stick to fish, grains and vegetables for a while. When you do add the others back do it sparingly. This way you have can work off what you already have without adding more. (By the way, I'm a personal trainer so forgive me for being so "straight". It's just what I get paid to do.)

I am not one to give advice on this because I still need to lose but my doctor told me to exercise.

I became a vegetarian and the pounds came off. It took me 6 months to loose 78 pounds. I was overweight before I got pregnant, now I'm at a size 9 and feeling good. I'm working on cutting down on the cheese now. I'm happy with the 9, but would love a 7. Good luck to you.

Sunny- good for you! That is awsome! My baby is 5 weeks old and I have lost a little over 30 of the 50+ lb gained from my pregnancy. I want to start walking a few days a week at the mall once Ben is a lttle bigger. I am also b___stfeeding, cleaning around the house when I can, and trying to eat better.

I agree with Leahp - cardio. I just got the okay to start working out again now that I hit the 6 week mark after my c-section. I am trying to cut back my portions and eat healthy like I did pre-pregnancy. I have lost 25 of the 29 pounds I gained during pregnancy but I want to lose about 25 more since I needed to lose about 20 when I got pregnant. Aside from b___stfeeding, I have added a 4 mile walk with the jogging stroller 4x per week, starting today. It's a little less then what I did before the baby but I think that it will do the trick to shed these unwanted pounds. Good luck to you!

I do walking too, but I find that with the time it takes to care for my child I can't put in as much exercise as it takes to loose weight. That's why I rely so heavily on food choices. It makes a real big difference. Hopefully cutting out dairy will keep me on the downward path. I encourage anyone to try it. It's not as hard as you would think. I eat as much as I want, and am never hungery. The food tastes great. I don't miss meat at all, infact I feel about the same way about the smell of meat as the smell of ciggerette smoke (another thing I've kicked) it makes me feel a little sick in my stomach. Hope my experience can be motivating to some of you. I'm going to go out and buy a vegan vegetarian cookbook today. I've already gotten some good recipies off the internet.

Sunny. Would you mind giving us an idea of your daily intake of food? Like what you would normally eat in a day. Also, do you b___stfeed? Now that my son is eating solids, I'm really considering becoming a vegetarian ( I would still eat cheese, milk, yogurt, etc.). I bought a book called Super Baby Foods and it stresses the importance of giving your body complete proteins even if you don't eat meat. Not everyone is aware that if you become a vegan (no animal products) there are still some nutrients that we normally get from animal sources that you have to have or you will get sick. You probably already know this but I thought I'd mention it.
