Hi girls. I had a c section just over 9 weeks ago now. I love my beautiful little boy but i'm a bit depressed about how my body now looks. As the t_tle of my question states i've been left with a flabby belly, numbness around my abdomen and backside and I have really bad stretch marks. So I was wondering what I could possibly do to try and sort them all. The thing that bugs me the most is having a kind of a flap of flab hanging over where my scar is...i've heard some people call it a pooch. I hate it. Is there anyway to get rid of it without surgery? Will the numbness last forever? and when will my stretch marks completely fade??? Please someone tell me there's a light at the end of the tunnel.

Well, my c-section was almost 14 months ago, and I still have the pooch, and I still am numb there. My stepmom had her 2nd c-section 14 years ago, and no longer has the pooch, but is still numb. So...here's hoping the pooch will go away, even if the numbness never does.

Hi there, I have had 3 sections, my last one being 3 years ago. I still have numbness, stretch marks fade to silver looking strips, not purple anymore and for me my "overhang" is still there, but I haven't done much either to get rid of it-lol. Good luck

Thanks for your stories girls...at least i'm not alone. It just gets a bit depressing at times, but I only have to look at my little boy to see it was all worth it.

i used mederma its a cream to help with scars ands\ its made my strech mark almost nonexsitant, as for the pooch get an exercise ball (easier on the back) and most athletic stores have videos to go along with the ball, my daughter is 3.5months and thanks to the ball and my daily 20minute routine i have almost completly lost my pooch!! and the ball is great to sit on and bounce a crank baby, which is also a core workout with out even trying!! good luck

one great exercise for that is while just standing there, draw your lower abs (under that pooch somewhere, lol) and draw them up toward your belly b___ton and your bb inwards. works laying down too. but you need to recondition those muscles. about 15 mo after my section i had ALMOST lost my pooch and got pg again. thankfully i had a vbac, but i also had separated abs so it's going to mean a lot of work!

Where do you find the mederma cream suggested?

I would also like to know where to get that cream from??? I'm doing kickboxing once a week now to try and loose weight and my pooch, but I find it difficult to find the motivation to excercise more than once a week. Especially when I've got my hands full with my little man.
