it seems they do it by staple here, but looks like it takes longer time to heal. Is it true? are there any other option when they st_tch the incision place?

I had st_tches with all three of mine. My best friend delivered at the same hospital, but under a different OB practice and had staples with her 2. I remember my doc saying early on in my 2nd pregnancy that the baby's size can make a difference and sometimes the amount of belly fat on the mother can... BUT, that said... my best friend and I are approx. the same size and her babies were 10 lbs. 6 oz and 8 lbs. 2 oz. Mine were 9 lbs. 5 oz., 10 lbs. 6 oz and 8 lbs. 3 oz. Everything was so similar, but still we had different incision closings, so I'm guessing that was more the doc's preference in our cases. We both seemed to heal at about the same rate. I didn't have to worry about going back in to have staples removed like she did... but she said it didn't hurt at all.

I had staples with both of my C's, and the staples were removed before I was discharged from the hospital. I am in Chicago, and everyone else I know around here who has had a C had staples. Maybe it's a regional thing?

gigi, I don't know if they have alternative forms of closing a c-section but I have had three myself and had staples each time. The took them out the next day and used medical tape after that. No big deal. It doesn't even hurt when they take them out.

...I had internal staples and they cauterized(sp) the outer layer. Thinking about it makes me kind of sick.

I have had 3 csections and had stables each time, I had a nurse or went to the dr's office to have them removed (painless even when they get stuck). Anyway im having my 4th section and they want to use st_tches but I am unsure how good they are so I am actually going to ask for staples. oh ya I had those strips on as well as staples. i live on the west coast in canada

I had internal st_tches and glue and steristrips on the outside. I have never seen anyone else's c/s scar up close and personal, but I get lots of complements on how good it looks when ever a medical professional sees it. =)
