My first baby was born by emergency c-section (after 4 hours of pushing!) so I am definitly going schedule my second for a c-section. I'm not pregnant yet, but I want to know how do they usually schedule the date for the c-section, do they wait until you are a full 40wks, do they wait till you have started labor, or do they plan it a little while before you are actually due?

my second was april 29 and i was due may 3rd...i got to pick a particular day in what week he gave me...doctors vary some take them as early as 38 weeks and others 39 so somewhere in those 2 weeks

They schedule it before you're due, so you don't go into labor. It depends on the doctor, how soon they'll do it. My doctor was checking my cervix from 34 weeks on, to be sure I wasn't going to go into labor before the c-section.
