Hi, I was just wondering if anyone can help me I am 25 weeks and discovered at my scan today that I have a low lying placenta, not surehow low. The obs said not to worry it should move. However I am not confident it will. Therefore he will c-section me, my fear is how early he will section me as my son was born at 38 weeks.

When i was preg with my son at 19 weeks they discovered i had the same thing. and my doc said that it would move.But it didnt. At 23 weeks i started to bleed. i wasnt told to be on bed rest but i should have been cause at 29-30 weeks i had to have an emergency c-section. My advice for you would be to be easy on urself.Dont get stressed out, get off your feet as much as you can. Having my son at 30 weeks was scarey. Wouldnt want that to happen to anyoine else.

Thanks so much Mandy for your reply. I am a busy women running my creche and with a young toddler so very glad of your valuable advice. I suppose you have a gut feeling on these things and mine is not great at the moment. Will find out more in a few weeks at next scan. Im 26 weeks now and have taken a good stretch over the last couple of weeks so hopefully it will move!! Fingers crossed thanks again.xx

when i had my placenta previa 5 yrs ago they said if it didn't move by the time i went into labor i would have to have a c section but they decided that i would problably have one at 8 months my babies were premies they went ahead and scheduled it my advice to you is even if they tell you it seems like it moved go with the c-section everybody nows doctor's r not perfect and it's for the best if u deliver normally and have placenta previa they told me chances r the mother can die during birth because of hemorrage

I had placenta previa discovered at 20 wks. It was a complete previa which bled at 24 wks and 32 wks. I had c-section at 37 wks and 6 days. This was just this past tues 10/16. I worried and stressed so much over it but the section went well of course I am still recovering, but so far so good. My son is also doing very well. Most of the time these things don't cause too many problems except that you have to have a c/s. I want you to know that you'll be fine and hopefully yours will move. I read that 90% of the time previas correct themselves. GL!

Hi - I has placenta previa with my 3 yr old. I was complete previa and at 37 weeks they started looking into delivery. I had an amnio at 37 weeks and when we discovered that babies lungs were borderline, I had a shot of steriods 2 days in a row. Unfortuanltley, the combination of these 3 put me in to labor and I had a HEALTHY baby girl at 37.5 weeks. She was 6.51 and perfect!!
