I am freaking out now. My dr at my appt yesterday said that he couldn't locate the babies head...He said that its possible that the baby is breech so I go for an ultrasound next week. I'm scared because now I'm hearing that babies can be breech because they are either too small or have an abnormality??? Wouldn't my other ultrasound pick up abnormalities? I'm so scared now!!!

Breech babies are VERY common. It's doubtful that it's because of an abnormality. Also, size doesn't matter as far as breech is concerned. My last baby was breech and was over 10 lbs. (but he was a scheduled c-section, so it didn't make a difference). Since you are only 35 weeks (saw your post on 3rd trim. board), your baby still has time to turn on his/her own. If your baby really is breech and doesn't turn, they may suggest ecv (external cephalic version) where they manually try to turn the baby- I've heard good and bad stories about it- you'll have to talk to your doctor about it and make a decision if it comes to that. Of course, IF your baby is breech and all else fails you may need a c-section, BUT... you don't even know for sure if the baby IS breech yet, so my advice would be to try to relax and make the decision to not worry about it unless you have a definite reason to. (And, I'll just say- I've had three c-sections and mine weren't too bad at all- definitely some pain and all, but I've had a very long 24 hour labor and it was nothing compared to that!). Good luck... relax, kick your feet up and enjoy these last few weeks...

If your baby is breech then you may consider trying the Webster technique. This is a pelvic adjustment done by a chiropractor. Sometimes the baby is unable to get into the right position because your pelvis isn't in the right position. That can be caused by too much stress on your pelvis-like the big belly you're carrying around!! From what I know-this technique works very well...my best friend's baby was breech she avoided a c-section this way. Worth a shot!!
