Please help me. I had an elective C section with my second child 3 months ago. The reason being that I was terrified of giving birth as had a horrible time the first time round (natural, 4 years ago, possibly causing PND). I now really regret having a C section and I am feeling quite depressed by it. I still have not recovered, I have a sore tummy all the time, . If I do any walking my stomach burns under and around the inscion site and gets very sore. I cannot wear anything around the lower abdominal area as it puts too much presure on my tummy. I am finding it hard to look after 2 children and keep blaming myself that I made the worst decsion of my life. I have had an ultrasound and nothing has showed up. Could the pain be casued by scar tissue? Please help me. Is it normal to feel pain, soreness etc after 3 months (despite getting rest and help with the kids for the first 6 weeks). This is affecting me so much. The doctors keep telling me that everyone heals differently and i will be ok. thanks

Although I agree, a c-section is very painful and I would never have had it done if it was not necessary, after 3 months you should not be in pain. It may still be a little tender if you put alot of pressure on the incision, but the way you describe does not sound right. Did they have any problems with your surgery? I wish I could help you, but all I can say is that I did not have that type of pain 3 months post c-section. I would ask the doctor if there were any problems and why you are still feeling this way. Good luck, I hope you feel better soon.

thanks very much. The doctor keeps telling me I do not have an infection and that my wound is healing ok. Other than that i have no answers for the soreness/pain other than rest. I still feel exhausted most of the time despite a lot of family help with the kids.

I am four months and still having significant pain. Doc tells me that everyone is different. Still I was hoping to read more on how to alleviate the pain.
