I had C-Section 11 Days ago due to breech baby, and I can almost say it was pain free, I experience slight pain upon movement first 2 days, was up and walking next day, I was all concerned abt having c-section due to recovery, but this was just too easy. So anyways those who may be worried/dreading having a c-section please remain positive.

Yeah, you really expect us to believe that having seven layers of tissue cut, an organ cut and sewn up, another organ shoved out of it's normal position, muscles, cut and sewn up and skin cut and sewn up was PAINFREE? Sure. Any other ladies out there, DO NOT BELIEVE A C-SECTION IS VIRTUALLY PAINFREE. This poster has either an unusual resistance to pain impulses or had a fantastic type of pain meds. Mili, you are an extreme exception if you really mean you only had slight pain with movement for 2 days. That just is as easy as it gets for most people, even those who elected a c-section for no medical reason have admitted there is some significant pain for a while. But good for you, however.

There is nothing natural about v____al birth when the doctor cuts your v____a all the way down to the rectum to get the baby out. My baby's head was huge and the doctor did not have a choice in the matter. There was not enough time to get a c-section by the time the doctor realized how big her head was. She was only 6 pounds, 8 ounces but she had a big head. Because of this "v____al cut" which is supposed to be closer to natural childbirth than an abdominal cut my life has been ruined. After the birth I've had surgeries to try and rectify the rectal/a___l problems my episiotomy created with no success. And let's not forget the hemmerhoids (sp)!!! So I did have a surgical v____al birth - I had my bottom/v____a sectioned instead of my abdomen. A c-section in all likelihood would not have created the direct damage to my v____al/rectal/a___l area that the v____al birth did as it hurts to sit down. Now that the damage has already been done, if I ever have another baby it will be by elective c-section.

To the previous poster, I did not say anything about v____al with episiotomies being anything...I did not mention v____al births v.s. c-sections at all. I am sorry you had a bad episiotomy, I truly am. You probably should have the next one c-section but that doesn't mean they don't hurt terribly to some and it certainly doesn't take away from the fact that you had a traumatic v____al delivery, however, a traumatic c-section delivery is just as bad in many cases. my goodness, you act like all c-sections are a day at the spa and no one could possibly have as painful an experience as you did...I think the ladies posting on the "open...incision leaking...blood coming out" forum are having just as bad a time as you had. Sorry to you but at least you didn't almost bleed to death like me and have to be CPR'd and shocked with paddles during your baby's birth. I didn't think I was talking about vag-birth at all. I may not have hemorrhoids and fissures and your pain, but I now have a cardiac condition in which I can NEVER have another baby either way. What a nice c-section story THAT is. This isn't a compet_tion, ok? You had a bad v____al, I had a bad c-section, yours hurt terribly and still does and mine hurt terribly and still does. Please read my response again, I never mentioned comparisons.

I did not at all say that all C-Sections are pain free, I was just posting my own experience and for me as said earlier for some odd reason I did not experience the kind of pain I expected to have with a c-section, as for the drugs I was only given a slow release pain killer every 12 hrs, panadol in between, for the first 3 days, once I came home I took panadol but that was for a headache. This was suppose to be a positive post for those worried abt having c-sect, but by all means I DID NOT SAY A C-SECT WAS GOING TO BE PAIN FREE, I had just stated my own experience and that was one with LIMITED pain, I DID NOT SAY I HAD A PAIN FREE C-SECT, each person is different, and every c-sect will be different, I am still supprised that mine went so easily, I was suppose to have the usual 5 day hospital stay, Dr was prepared to let me go on day 2, but I myself wanted to stay extra night, due to baby b___stfeeding etc.
BTW they do no cut through your abdominal muscles in a c-section.

That depends on what technique they use as for cutting or no cutting. Mine were cut because I don't have any room whatsoever in my pelvis and "teasing" the muscles out of the way after a minor cut with M-Ladach procedure wouldn't have worked. Out of curiosity, how do you think they get to your uterus? Something has to get cut or torn to get past your rectus, external and internal obliques to your uterus. I am a nurse, that is why I am so surprised you said you had almost no pain. I personally have witnessed many cesarean sections and it has been my experience that there is a lot more cutting of abdominal muscles than not. Also, a slow-release painkiller is a fortuitous event, many medical centers don't enlist those nor do they use dura-caths for continuous pain relief. I guess one could say, you were both well taken care of and you were very fortunate. I would just like to caution ladies about c-sections because I have seen them from both sides of the table. Congratulations on your baby, a breech presentation can be a very frightening diagnosis, frank or footling?

Hi Mili, thank you for sharing your positive experience it helped me. I am sceduled for a C-Section in January as I had serious complications during my first natural birth which sadly resulted in the death of my baby and so natural birth is not an option for me & as the time gets closer I am feeling more and more anxious about a C-Section but I am a bit better now after reading your positive story. thank you :)
