Wondering if there are any precautions I should take when hubby and I have s_x for the first time after our baby was born via c-section. Also what differences there are (if ant) between postpartum s_x after va___al birth, postpartum s_x after c-sectin, and s_x before pregnancy.

Pirates- I never had any v____ally, so I don't know about that, but the first time we had s_x after each of my c-sections it was a bit painful. I just felt too tight and dry (sorry, WAY TMI). I guess it was hormones, plus it had just been SO long. I bled for 6 weeks with each section and so we waited until after that. Lubrication helps and it does get better (if you even have any problems at all, that is). Good luck:)

Hi Piratesmermaid, I believe we have babies almost the same age, my dd was born on July 19th with a planned csection this time around. I am also nursing her as I believe you are with yours. (been on the bf site a few times myself with questions.....)With my son last year my husband and I waited about 5 weeks before s_x. ( i had an emergancy csection) for me it was not bad at all. We did use lubricant and we had no problems that I recal. This time around I am waiting till after I see my doctor at 6 week check up as I have had a few more complications this time with csection recovery... One thing is I automatically used lubricant and didnt really tell him so that it would be more enjoyable. After all the baby stresses I wanted to make sure things in that department went smoothly...lol...

We used lubrication and it still hurt, unfortunately. I just don't understand why it hurts! It's frustrating. I mean, she wasn't delivered that way, so why........ My hubby and I had s_x 3 days before she was born and it didn't hurt like that.

I don't mean to depress you, but s_x was painful for me for a few months after each of my 2 c-sections. It's doesn't make sense, but it was indeed painful. It got better though, but it took about 6 months to really feel normal.

I had no problems 3 weeks afterwards. I still don't, so maybe it depends on the person. I just had to be a little careful that dh didn't rub too much against my scar.
