I was told at my 30 week visit or so that the baby was head down. I am now 37 weeks and I am almost positive the baby is transverse. I have been thinking the whole time that this big hard spot at the top of my belly was his butt...I am pretty sure its his head instead! I am going make sure with my doctor Tues.! Should I be in pain b/c my baby is this way? I am hurting so bad everytime he moves and cannot sit, stand, lay in any position that doesn't hurt or is uncomfortable for that matter! Just wondering if this is normal? I am really hurting and am very scared about a c-section! I think since he keeps growing (not to mention I think he is a BIG baby) its making me in more pain than before!

my son was like that also. he was head down, but he was posterior, face up, not face down. i had a lot of pain in my pelvis it almost felt like he was going to drop out. and a lot of back pain. your dr should be able to help you. try yoga and or exercise. sometime it's hard to get going but it REALLY helps. i did have a section because of failure to progress, but he came out fine. a big boy also 8 lbs 13 oz.... and i'm only 5'1".

i was like you julesnac my daughter was face up also and after being induced and in labour for 16 hrs and pushng for at least a couple of hours and getting no where not to mention the failed use of the ventouse vacuum it was decided i had to have an emergency c-section. my daughter was born a healthy 7lb 8.5oz-her only battle scar was a graze on the top of her head from the ventouse (the suction let go!) just hope the next baby isnt as difficult a birth!!!!!!
