This is a long story but here it goes. I was 15 when i got pregnant with my son. I went into the hospital to have him at 36 weeks. They tried to induce me but i didnt dialate and he was starting to show stress. So i had an emergency c section. I didnt like the c section because i was to drugged to remember anything and they give you Versed and it takes away your memory of it. I got to kiss him on the head and then they rushed him out. He was having trouble breathing. I didnt see him for two days because i was so out of it. Then when it was time i didnt even feel like goint down to the nursery because it didnt feel real to me. Well he ended up being sick his whole life. Me and his dad carried the gene for HLH (Hemophagacitic Lympho Histiosytosis) He had chemo and a bone marrow transplant but had serious lung damange from getting colds and stuff from no immune system. I spent 2 years in seattle childrens hospital with him. We went back for regular tests and he went into lung failure and on september 21st 2007 god called him home. I am not pregnant and dont plan on it until im married (im 18 now) I want to try a nautral water birth. I have very good pain tolerance and i think it looks very calm and relaxing. And i want to be undrugged and have the baby very aware. I also want to be able to br___tfeed right away and bond with the baby. HELP!! Im scared from what iv heard about va___al deliveries. And my mom had an episiatomy with me and my 4 siblings. Does that mean i will need one? Any help would be appriciated. Thanks!

First let me say that i'm sorry for the loss of your child, i can't imagine haveing to go through what you did. This is really something you will have to discuss with your doctor or midwife when the time comes. What kind of cut did they do? If it was the cla__sic where they go down your belly you probably will have to do another c-section. If it was the bikkini kind where they cut across your belly down low you may have a chance. I too had a c-section, but it was planned so the experience was overall positive for me. I asked my doctor about doing a v-bac (v____al birth after cesarean) she told me the risk of uteran rupture was low but she would recomend an epidural right away and internal monitors. That way if the baby was in any distress they would know right away and if anything went wrong i could have an emergency c-section without having to be put under. That was what i was told you may be able to find someone with a different opinion. But i just want to let you know with my planned c-section i got an epidural and i was very aware of everything going on, my memory of the event is very clear. Granted i wasn't the first to hold her b/c i had to be stiched up but as soon as i was in recovery i got to hold her and b___stfeed her right away. I'm so sorry you had such a bad experience but if planned it can be very positive. Good luck to you in the future.

I too am sorry for your loss. I am not pregnant again either, but I would like to try a VBAC next time around. I am hoping to get pregnant again within the next couple of months. I have heard that water births are actually really good for VBACs. Like Krissy said, you really need to discuss it with your doc or midwife. Your reasons as to why the initial c-section was done sometimes play a factor, although from what I've read, I don't understand why they induced you at 36 weeks! Unless you had a medical reason...that's just crazy. Anyways, it is usually recommended that for any type of VBAC, whether water birth or hospital, that there is no induction or hormones given to speed it up (i.e. pitocin). For me personally, I will want to be monitored like crazy simply because my daughter was stillborn 2 days before my scheduled c-section (breech presentation) and I just don't want to take any chances.
