When they try to turn the Baby?

I believe it is called an external version, and it is when the docs try to manually turn the baby by pushing on your abdomen. I had one a couple of years ago when they discovered that my baby was breech at my 40-week appointment. The version was unsuccessful and I had to have a c-section. My baby was huge though (10 lbs). The version was the most painful thing I ever experienced. It's weird pain because it only hurts while they are pushing on your abdomen, but when they let go, the pain immediately goes away. Do you need to have a version? There is a higher success rate when it is done sooner than later. I was 40 weeks with a huge kid, so I was a terrible candidate to even try the version.
