I had a c-section about 10 days ago. I have a terrible burning and throbbing pain when ever I walk or stand for longer than 4-5 minutes. I was sewn on the inside and glued on the outside. My incision looks fine, but the burning pain is killing me. Does any one else hae this problem?

I had c-section month ago, from day one i was bleeding and took regular bath and wash that with soap and water. After 4 days my staple were removed and my wound was opened and it was 11inches by 4 inches. But then i got wound VAC.It gives negetive pressure to wound and help it to heal faster. Now my wound is 6 inches by 1.5 inches.Ask ur doctor about wound VAC machine.

i'm not sure what is the best way to heal-except to take it easy, and get help with baby lifting, housework, cooking, and driving from anyone who is willing to help. your priority is getting better and learning all about your new baby so don't let anyone make you feel guilty about it. my c-section was july6. i had all kinds of pain etc (see my previous post) and now am pretty much fine-occasional shooting pains and still weaker than before pregnancy but much much better. i haven't started exercising again yet but hope to in the next 1-2 months.

I am 3 motsl post partum (July 1st) I am doing tremendously well compared to my last c section, my last i got infection this time was fabulous, I thank my doctors for that, They took the time to st_tch me correctly and did a wonderful job, I do go in tomorrow for an endometrial ablation because with my tubal ligation with my c section i am still bleeding so I am getting the ablation done, The doc says i may bleed for 3 days out of 4 mots, beats this bleeding for 3mots any day, good luck to everyone and take care

I just had my 4th section 13 days ago. Right now I feel like someone is sitting on my stomach, I also had a tubal. Dont know if that has anything to do with this feeling though. I feel bad for all you ladies that have had these awful problems and I really hope you are all feeling better soon. As far as the "numb" feeling, that never goes away....my oldest is 9. Anyway you look at it though the babies are worth every minute!! Enjoy your babies, they dont stay small long enough.

I had a c-section Aug 15 /04 and am due for a second in January. The first one was bad for me, I got an infection and was in labour for over 20 hours before we decided to have the c-section. I was put under, I am so scared of the epidural because of the spine thing *not to mention my fear of needles*. Does any have advice for a second c-section. I fear that I will get another infection. I was stapled with the first.

Yes, have a VBAC, no one should force you to have major surgery against your will if that is the case (ie. we don't do VBAC's....that is coercion) and contrary to scare tactics used by doctors and statisticians, VBAC's are very safe, with a chance for rupture only 1% and that is usually due to inductions. Women who have never had a c-section also have a risk of rupture almost that of VBACs with pitocin. If you don't need a c-section, don't let them give you one. Good luck

I had a csection almost six months ago and am still very tender around my incision site. Is this normal.? when will the pain go away?

Michelle - October 21

The reason I can't have a VBAC is becasue I can't dilate. I can, but only so far. With my first one, I was 10 hours in labour and dilated 4cm.. after 15 hours it was 7cm and after 20 hours I went back down to 4cm. I was very tired and took nothing for the pain, so a c-section sounded fair. But the scar I have is larger than paper thin, I am already self-concious if it, will I now have 2 scars that are larger than thought to be? The other thing I fear, is not being able to spend the time with my older child as much.

I had my first c-section with my 4th child almost 4 weeks ago. I was sewn not stapled. I am still in alot of pain and discomfort. It's usually after picking up something too heavy (another child) or my clothes rubbing against the scar. The incision did not get infected and looks pretty good. It does sort of feel like a rope. I had an excellent doctor and am very thankful that he sewed and did not staple.

I have had two c-sections. One 7years ago and the other 4years ago. Can any of you ladies who have had staples, tell me when your staples were removed after your c-section. My DR removed mine at my six week check-up and this seems really long to me. Any Ideas??

charity - October 24

Brandy, mine where removed the day after i checked out , I went back to the hospital and they removed them then, because i went home one day early for a c section, but normally they are removed the day you go home and then it is just tape. My sister had her's removed the day she went home
