I've been taking vicodin off and on for severe hip pain, I'm due July 10th i never take more that 1 -3 a day and my docotor is aware, my concern is will my baby experiance withdrawl if i don't stop before he is born? Should i try to stop now and allow my system and his to clear out? has anyone out there also taken vicodin while they were PG...i know i should trust my doctor and just stick to what she says i'm just looking for some advice

did your dr give it to you?
I have severe hip/pelvic/tailbone pain, and my dr did nothing for me.

yes my doctor gave it to me, she told me the benefits out weighed the risks. I would look around for another doctor if your dealing with severe pain the discomfort can be worse for you and the baby than the solution.

No, your baby will not experience withdrawals from this. When I was pregnant with my son I was very sick (hyperemisis, pancreat_tis and gall stones) and I was on TONS of pain medication. Vicodin, Demerol, Tylenol 3, Darveset, and more...for a long period of time. My son is perfectly healthy and has no symptoms of withdrawal. (He's almost 2 weeks old) He weighed 9 lbs 8 oz when he was born and is doing great! No need to worry!
