Supportive Underwear Or Belt

i've read that after a c-sec supportive underwear or a postpartum belt may help with healing - anyone have experience of this, and can you recommend a particular type/brand of underwear?

I didn't use a belt after my c-section, but I've bought one for my second pregnancy, the wide elastic one Motherhood sells, and it helps with backache and with feelings of pelvic pressure, so I think it might be useful after c-section too. I always had trouble keeping the incision dry, and I think support underwear could add to the problem. I'm planning to use cotton underwear and the support belt.

I used a nice girdle after my c-section 2 years ago. That helped keep the flap of skin off the incision, and helped the bandage against the incision, so it stayed dry and clean. Keeping it dry and clean helps with the healing. And it kept pressure on my belly so I could get up and down easier, and without holding a pillow against me (like my nurses suggested). Anything that can help is worth a shot. If you want a girdle, look in Wal-Mart or Sears. The Motherhood store here didn't have one when I looked, but they might carry some now.
