I am four weeks postpartum and delivered via c-section. My muscles ache terribly and am dying to take a bath and soak. Is it safe to take a bath?

It should be, unless your doc specifically said no or you have a problem with your scar still being open or infected. I took one the day I came home and just dried it really really well. If your are concerned, check with Doc. If you have any kind of a belly flap you MUST make sure the area under it is always clean and dry to prevent bacteria or yeast from colonizing there.

I took one a week or two after I got home from the hospital. I was taking showers before that because I was really sore and wasn't sure if I'd be able to get out of the tub. I just left the door unlocked incase I had trouble so my husband could come and help me up. The bath felt really good, I say go for it!

it's been 3 and a half wks since my c-section and i asked my doc the same thing only yesterday, she said as long as i'm only in there for about 10-15mins then that's fine and i've had 2 infections aswell, so u should be fine.
