I know sugarless gum has aspartame, and a few years ago, chewing gum is how I was able to quit smoking. I chew gum everyday now, but seeing that sugarless gum has aspartame, should I stop? I don't like diet coke or artificial sweetners, so the gum is the only thing that contains aspartame in my diet.

Savy, my approach is "everything in moderation" and that "natural is better than artificial." If you're just chewing a couple of sticks of gum a day, I can't imagine that you're overloading on the aspartame. Maybe now that you're prego, you could munch on some fruit or carrots instead--a great way to get some of those extra calories we need AND to get some great fiber and nutrients into your diet.
