I have always eaten a lot of carbohydrate based foods and have not really changed my diet despite being pregnant. Is it ok to eat a lot of bread? Also does it matter that I've carried on eating chips and crisps?! I know I should cut down but it's so difficult!

I'm a carbo junkie as well! Just make sure you get your fruits, veggies, and dairy products as well.

Wholemeal bread, brown rice and sweet potatos are the best choice, white carbs have little goodness, they encourage weight gain. Wholemeal grains are mainly fibre so most of the product will go thru your system and not be stored. Wholgrains help you to feel full and provide you and your baby with much needed vitamins
If you are eatting large servings of empty white carbs you will put on more weight than you need to.But if you are eatting wholemeal you have made a great choice.

Durring my first pregnancy I ate lots of carbs, chips, bread, snacks. And I put on too much weight It took me 3 years to get rid of it, because of the large weight gain I have lots of stretch marks in places that they should have never been.
This time I have been cutting out white bread, rice and pasta, sugar and fat I enjoy wholemeal bread, and pasta and brown or wildrice. I did not like the taste at first but soon got used to it. I try to eat no more than 6 small serves each day My doctor has said that I have done well.
