I am about 6 weeks pg with our 2nd child. I HATE milk. The only way I can drink it is if is has chocolate syrup in it. I need my calcium, but am afraid of gaining to much weight. I gained 74lbs with my first (bedrest) and still have only lost about 1/2 of that. I am only trying to gain 15-20lbs this itme around, but I am worried about the chocolate milk thing. Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm taking Coral Calcium. My Dr. said it won't harm me but then he gave me these vitamen pills for pregnancy and told me I don't have to take the calcium pills anymore, just these pills. So, my best advice to you is to really speak to your Dr. about it, as he knows what's best. Good Luck.

I would go with the Calcium supplements too. Apparently, calcium can affect the uptake of iron, soif you are already taking a supplement with iron in, take the two supplements at different times of the day. Talk to your doctor about it...as well as supplements there are other foods with lots of calcium in them like sardines, calcium enriched orange juice and leafy green vegetables.

Try calcium supplements. It is healthier for the baby if you gain more weight, and it especially decreases the likelihood of your baby having problems.
Make sure to only drink water, no juice (which has too many calories), and make sure to exercise everyday for at least an hour (unless you have high blood pressure, hypertension).
