I just had a m/c (unplanned pregnancy) and now would like to ttc, first I would like to adjust my diet and exercise regimin. I was exercing up to 2 vigorus hours a day and was only consuming about 1200 calories a day...sometimes less. What is healthy for someone ttc or pregnant? Are womens one a day vitamins good for ttc? Thanks.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I have had multiple miscarriages and I know how painful it is (the good news is that I'm currently in my 2nd trimester, so don't give up hope). Check out this website:

I don't know how you're even standing up--I'd be pa__sed out on the floor from exhaustion after 2 hours of exercise and only 1200 calories/day. You must be very disciplined. Find out if your BMI is on target (or if it's a bit under or over where it should be). I'd cut back exercise a bit (1 hour/day, 5 days/week should be plenty) and increase your calorie intake a bit (good proteins and lots of fruit/veggies). As for a vitamin, I think it's a good idea. Make sure you're getting 400 mcg of folate/folic acid daily. Check out the book "Stay Fertile Longer" by Mary Kittel, et al. It's very helpful! Best wishes--my prayers are with you.

Hi redhead125. Thanks for your great advise and leads on where to look for new info. I'm gonna check them out as soon as I get a chance. I am increasing my calories, but its hard to keep it healthy. I was worried that the exercising I was doing could affect ttc or pregnancy. I have cut back already, I am having trouble finding a middle ground. I am sooo glad to that you have made it to your second trimester! Best wishes for you and baby.
