I am so confused about how much is moderate. I found a lot of websites claiming that nutrasweet and splenda (made from sugar) are safe during pregnancy, in moderation. I have no idea how much that is. I am a huge crystal light drinker because i HATE water. I switched to decaff coffee and like 2 packets of equal with that. I also drink caffeine free soda, 3 per day usually. What do I need to eliminate?

i think you are fine. They do say to limit your caffine intake to 2 8 oz cups a day. Also becareful with drinking a lot of soda as it is mainly sugar water. I was reading today actually in my copy of "what to expect when expecting" and they say splenda is perfectly safe and have given no recommended dosage. I think you are fine!!! Also as long as you are taking a prenatal you are getting nutrition even if you are not eating the best so take comfort in that. :)

I am glad to hear about the Splenda. I don't drink regular soda, so i am not getting sugar there. But, With 3 a day, I know that is a lot of nutrasweet. Add in the splenda and a lot of crystal light, I am just not sure how to moderate my intake of sweetners to an appropriate amount,

I am right there with you - I lost a good deal of weight in the past by using artificial sweetner products. I even eat yogurt with Splenda. A couple of other pregnant women I know do the same.

So, months later and I'm going into my 2nd IVF round...the first was a "close, but not cigar" (chemical pregnancy). Anyone know what "moderate" is for Splenda products? If I consume about 5 servings a day (one drink as a serving, half cup of sugar free jello as one serving) is that ok? My RE will only tell me to limit it - that IS limiting it to me!! Any thoughts?
