I am roughly 7-8 weeks along and have gained roughly 8-9 lbs.! An early ultrasound at 6 weeks showed two gestational sacs (twins). My doctor expects me to pass one of the sacs b/c of no growth. I am physically fit and normally weigh 105. I eat a very well balanced diet of whole grains, fruits, vegetables...occasional ice cream etc. on the weekend, exactly the same as I did pre-pregnancy. I know this is an excessive amount of weight gained for such an early time in my pregnancy. Is it b/c my body think I am pregnant with twins? Has anyone like me experienced this? If I put my jeans up to my hips, they are roughly 2-3 inches too small! Thanks!

I'm not for sure about anything but everyone that I know that was really small before they got pregnant gained a lot more weight. Maybe it has something to do with protecting the baby.

I am 7 weeks pregnant and as far as I know I carrying one baby. No ultrasound until 16 weeks! I had lost about 7lbs right before I got pregnant and in a matter of 2-3 weeks I have gained it back. Up to 131 now. I have a smaller frame so 7lbs makes a huge difference. I am somewhat discouraged and starting to wonder if most women really do exercise.
