Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids found in fish oils are great not just for a baby's brain developement but for adults and children too. It's even said to help improve memory. The baby's brain is developing very fast in the last stage of pregnancy so now is a good time to take some. I take it every second day with my prenatal vitamin (that I take every day) in the form of a supplement. I'm in landlocked Canada and fresh fish isn't plentiful. I also know that there is a lot less fish that can be trusted to eat while you are pregnant so I try to avoid alot of it. A huge bottle cost me 6$ Canadian so it won't cost you a lot. I take it every other day at the advice of my midwife. It isn't necessary every day.

i'd recommend taking one tablespoon of - preferably organic - flax oil, it contains the same omegas and fatty acids as fishoil but since it is plant based it is easier to absorb by the body and also easier on the stomach.
