Hi , I am worried I ate a little bit of feta cheese and noticed that thats a food you should avoid i am 9 weeks pregnant please let me know if that is ok?

Pasteurized feta is safe, as are all pasteurized products. Almost all American brands are and the label will indicate that. Listeria is contracted from unpasteurized products.

Its ok is it hard like bulgarian, if so dont worry, thats all I eat for breakfast on my toast. Its yummy. So long as its fresh and kept in the fridge, I say enjoy. I am 12 weeks but if you are really worried talk to your doctor. I think its soft cheese that you need to avoid.

Feta cheese is only ok if it is made in the UK or the US. So make sure on the label that it is made in either 2 places, if not stay away from it.

It does not mater where the feta is made as long as it has been pasterised, and kept cool. I enjoy eating feta from New Zealand

hi, i am bulgarian and i can tell you all the women there eat tons of feta when pregnant. my mom is said to have had 2lbs a day when pregnant?! i am 7 weeks and think of eating it as it is such an excellent source of nutrients and it is very diverse for preparations.
