Gardnerella Infection

Hey Ladies, I just found out that I have gardnerella. If no one knows what it means, it's a bacterial infection that's in the va___a, happens in a lot of pregnant woman. Anyway, my doctor prescribed some medicating gel to be taken va___ally. I don't understand, everything that I've read has said "pregnant women should not use gel or creams. An oral anitbiotic is best in this case". Should I not take this gel and ask that my dr. put me on oral meds? Why would she give me something that says all pregnant women shouldn't use?

When you have something like a yeast infection, it is completely safe to use a cream. I developed one with my first pregnancy, and evrything turned out fine.
