I'm currently at 28 weeks and around 18 weeks i had a slight yeast infection that my doc said I can treat with either Yogurt or monistat. I currently have abnormal discharge (its anywhere from brownish, to dark yellowish, sometimes pinkish..sorry TMI) and my va___al area is inflamed and slightly itchy/burning. Can someone recommend which Monistat I can take.. i've never really had anything like this before pregnancy so i'm totally clueless!! thanks!

I have a yeast infection right now, and my pharmacist told me to treat it with Canestan 7-day treatment, which I'm doing. It works really well - have used it before and it works really well this time too!

I am currently 35 weeks, and so far I've had my share of YI's...5. And nothing over the counter helps. I have to use a 7 day Terconazole...or Zazole. Ask doc to prescribe something for you...Possibly a 1 day Gynazole, but if you're resistant to YI meds like I am, you'll want the 7 day.

I had a yeast infection and spent a couple months fighting it off without meds but the outside of my v____a was sooo itchy, red, sore , and swollen. i ended up taking canestan 3 day cream, you can use a little on the outside of the v____a, and it was recommended by my OBGYN. eating yougart does help prevent yeast infections but after using canestan you should be good for at least 2 months.

I would call the dr. again and don't mention the word "yeast infection" but rather tell her that you are concerned because your discharge is brownish, yellowish sometimes and even pink. Let her do a culture. There could be something else going on and not only a yeast. At least then the dr. will see the yeast, possibly prescribe a good strong cream not otc. Also, you can rule out anything else that may be going on. I had a yeast for about 2 months. The dr. said to use monistat. It never went away. I changed dr. because I moved, and this dr. couldn't believe how long I suffered. She prescribed something and it was gone in 3 days- finally relief. I never had that type of discharge, just yellow and white- think etc, or really dry and itchy. Hope I helped. Good luck!

see my dr. won't let me treat it over the counter, and he wants to look everytime I think somethings going on. I'm resistant to most meds, and I get YI's often. Basically...if you don't know for a fact that it's a YI...don't treat it!
