Hi Ladies,
I am 39 weeks and have started having achiness in my pelvic area and into my lower back. I do think the baby dropped a little bit this weekend and was thinking that it may just be pressure? Has anyone had this? Any need to be concerned? Thanks!

Im not sure but im hacing the same problems, except im having sharp pain in my v____al area at times too. These pains dont last very long at all, they are just instantaneous then go away. I also have pains in my back that kind of feel like my nerves are getting pressed on (which im sure thats all it is). Im 36 weeks today.

This could be a sign that the baby has dropped and you are ready for labor soon??? It is normal to start to feel pressure this late in the pregnancy, you are due anyday and your body is preparing for labor!

I started having severe groin pain during my 30th week. The doctor said it was due to the baby turning head down and me working on my feet 10 hours a day. He suggested bed rest, which I found actually made it worse. For me bing somewhat active kept me limber. I still hurt at night when i relax, especially when changing postions in bed or changing positions suddenly while moving.

Hi Aomont, I was suffering from this at about 28-30wks and then it disappeared. Im now nearly 36wks and the pain is back, intensifying with alot of pressure in the pelvic area, back and some period pain in the lower abdomen. I went to the hospital friday night for a check up for other problems and my midwife checked bub's position. She found that my babies head is engaging into the pelvic area and thats most probably the reason why you are having those pains. The ligaments in the pubic area are expanding and getting ready for bub. If you are still worried there is nothing wrong with asking your ob/gyn or midwife. Thats what they are there for. Hope everything goes well and good luck.
