hi you all moms-to-be, i'm on my 26th wk, been logging on to this site and found out that i have most of your discomforts too. few days ago though, i started feeling pain in pubic bone and muscles, i wonder if this is normal? this is goin' to be my 4th child, and i had never have anything like this in previous pregnancies. also, this baby feels toooo heavy, like gravity is pulling on me. i just had my ultrasound 3days ago, tech said all parameters are normal. so why is the feeling like this? pls. anyone? also been having terrible attack of insomnia, like i don't really get sleep at all. i also have severe itch all-over body, pain in butt when sitting long, leg and feet pain when standing long, and a lot more pains etc. appt with OB in 4 days, i would appreciate if anybody can ease my mind while waiting... not that i would be glad to hear you suffering like me. good luck to all!

welcome to the club! :) I have all the above and most of them started well before 25 weeks.I'm almost 34 weeks and none of them have gone away. I'm suprised you haven't had the pelvic pain in earlier pregnancies- it's just your pelvis separating so the baby can come out, totally normal. I've been sitting on an exercise ball and rocking back and forth instead of laying on the couch and it helps a lot. Your doctor might let you take unisom for the sleeping problem - mine did - but it didn't help much. I ended up getting two body pillows to support my back and my hips and it helps more than anything.

THIS IS my 4th too, and I've been diagnosed with Symphysis Pubic Dysfunction (SPD). It started around the 28 week with me thinking I'd pulled a groin muscle somehow, and it just got worse and worse. I too haven't experienced this with my other children. Only bad back pain with my last, who then broke my tailbone during delivery, which pain severely started up at around the same time as the pubic pain. It really is bad now at 37 weeks and I wear a girdle which helps sometimes. Try a physiotherapist (I went and it helped a bit) but every movement now sees me hobbling around like an old granny. Moving at night is the worst - bring tears to my eyes. Making certain movements just stop me short with the pain and it takes me awhile to get going. You really need to take it easy and get a whole body pillow. At night, it's the only thing that helps me comfortable when lying on the side so my body doesn't pull over with the belly. Put it right underneath. Gravity isn't my friend at the moment either! When I stand, the pressure is incredible and it feels like he's going to come out somedays. The only way to stop it is to sit down on the nerve - then my tailbone starts up and I have to stand. Up and down, up and down. Geez...they say it's better after baby is born, so i am only hoping...good luck.

Also, it's a hormone called relaxin that helps prepare the body for delivery. My entire pelvis feels like it's separating sometimes - it's amazing what our body goes through and how we have to cope!

oh my goodness, mine kills me. It's getting worse every day. I had the pelvic pain at 9 weeks but now it's nearly unbearable to walk. Getting out of bed to pee or in the morning is the worst. Everything is stiff and rolling off the side of the bed is so hard to do! I have two body pillows - and they are great! Some days I feel like I'm just going to fall out of bed because my legs just don't work because of the pelvic thing. It's my left side in particular. You should see me try to put on socks/underwear/pants...I have to put them on the floor almost just to get my toe in so I can pull them up - but bending over is very hard to do anymore at 35 weeks. :) I saw a chirpractor htrough April and then gave up. It didn't help at all - guess I have to let nature take it's course. She does feel VERY heavy too - puts lots of pressure on the pelvic area. I can't believe she can stay in there! It hurts so much more this week than before - and I have a feeling it's only going to get worse. ugh!

Hi. I'm almost 27 weeks with 2nd pregnancy and have been having pain and pressure in my pubic bone for the past month or more. It has only increased as time has pa__sed. It's comforting to hear that this is normal, but disheartening to know there's nothing that really helps and that it will probably get worse as I get farther along. I don't have any other symptoms, such as trouble walking, but I hurt all day long and sitting at work for 8 hours is very painful. Does anyone else just have this isolated pubic pain?

I am feeling your pain! I am 27 weeks, and I have SPD. Some days I feel like I'm being ripped apart, other days it is not as bad. Also I have vulvular varicosities, which don't help, and I feel as though this baby has already dropped. Some days I can't even get my feet up on the couch because it hurts so bad. Going pee in the middle of the night is awful!

hi girls. I too have just been diagnosed with SPD. This is my 3rd pregnancy and I have never had this pain before with the others. I am 25 weeks. Pain only started a few weeks ago. At 16 weeks I fell and fractured my tailbone so I'm not sure if this is related to the SPD. My physiotherapist says its very very common in pregnancy. I am in agony. Turning in bed is the worst of all. I havent tried a whole body pillow. Have tried a pillow between my knees and keeping my knees together when turning. Physio told me to pull my lower ab muscles in when getting out a chair and this helps a little. It seems worse standing on one leg to get dressed etc. I have started sitting on the edge of the bed to get dressed. Stairs are also a killer for me. Its making me miserable. I got over the nausea and now have this to cope with - the joys of motherhood lol. What worries me is later pregnancy and delivery. I am dreading labour now because of it. I suffer from fibromyalgia so basically I feel as though my whole body is falling to bits.
