HEY EVERYBODY, I AM EXPERIENCING SOME OF THE SAME THINGS AS YOU ARE. I JUST HAD A FEW QUESTIONS AND WAS WONDERING IF YOU MIGHT HAVE SOME ANSWERS. I AM SUPPOSE TO BE 6 WEEKS AND 3 DAYS. TODAY I WENT FOR A VAG./U AND HED AN EMPTY SAC. MY PROGESTERONE LEVEL WAS 12, AND MY HCG WAS 851. THEY TOLD ME TO COME BACK IN ONE WEEK FOR MORE MORE TEST. THEY ALSO PUT ME ON PROGESTERONE. I'M NOT REALLY SURE HOW TO FEEL. ANY HELP OR SUGGESTIONS? THANKS!

This same thing is happening to me. I was so scared yesterday when my doctor told me that the sac was empty. I should be about 6.5 weeks and I have never heard of this before. It's nice to know that it isn't just a rare thing. My friend Julie told me that at her first U/S that she had the same but a week later the baby was there. I am hoping that it is the same for me. I have two beautiful children already one is 22mo. and the other is only 4mo. I never had any kind of problems with either pregnancy and don't understand why I'd start having problems now. I also never had ultrasounds with my other two until about 10 weeks so maybe this is just to early. I'm so glad to have found this board. I was eager to just have the doctor get it out of me if it doesn't show up next week, but I'm going to wait awhile if he doesn't see it. I'd hate to rush it if there is a posibility that the baby may show up. Please pray for me . I'll post to let you know what happens next week

I, too, am in the same boat as so many of you. I found out this past Wed that I'm pg, my hcg was 1425 from Tues and 4614 on Friday. I went in this morning for a pg sono, the sac is as clear as day, but there's no sign of my peanut. :( I'm 5w6d from my LMP and about 3w from ovulation. I go back Thursday for another sono. I truly cannot believe this is happening. I will keep all of you in my prayers.

I thought this was only happening to me. It's comforting to know that some of you had happy ends, but I am still worried to death. I am 6 weeks pregnant (although not sure because of irregular periods after pills) and went to the doc last friday. There was a sack but no baby. The doctor first suggested doing a blood test to see if hcg is growing. Last week it was 530 and this week it is 12,000 whoch the doctor thought was good news. I was told to go back in a week but I would rather wait. I don't think I can get though another sonogram without seeing an embryo. I am still suspecting an ectopic. I have no symptoms of an ectopic though. Should the hcg levels be growing at such a rate in case of an actopic, do you gals know? I am hoping for the best but preparing for the worst. This pregnancy is a miracle in itself. I was diagnosed with PCOS last year and was told will never be able to concieve without infertility treatments, but got pregnant after a month of trying. Let's hope it will continue to be a miracle and result in an actual baby. I wish the same for all of you!

Nice to see others in the same boat. I'm 6w4d, started spotting last night. Called MD, nurse asked some questions and said she would call me back. Didn't call back until this morning. I was up all night thinking. I have two beautiful boys (1y & 2y) and their pregnancies were much harder than this has been, so I've been worried since I found out I was pregnant. I have an ultrasound this afternoon.

This same thing happened to me and I am wondering...is it normal to do the scan this early on? I have 2 boys 3 1/2 and 6 and I don't recall having a v____al ultrasound either time. Certainly the years could have stolen my memory but I was suprised when I went in for my first visit and had the scan. I was 7 wks, empty sac...tilted uterus. I was sent for blood work on 12/9 and 12/14. My numbers went from 25,000 to 38,000? I was told to go for another scan on 12/22. Many symptoms of pregnancy, no spotting. Again-- are they just doing the scans too early?

T - December 17

I have a similar experience here but was told it was a failed pregnancy but if i have same symptoms to retest in 1 week,, which is today,, i did retest and got very faint positive...hmm also have tilted uterus and no sac on screen... dont know what to do

I have good news!!! I should have posted sooner.. My HCG did not double and I was really worried and at 5 weeks there was no sign of a baby. Well I went monday and I should have been 6 weeks and 0 days and They found a baby and a heart beat and I am actually 7 weeks. Just trust god and also one more thing--- my doctor said once you hit about 5-6 weeks the HCG numbers quit doubling. I don't go back until the 19th but I am just trusting god and thinking positive.

venk - December 18

what a terrifying news after i thanked god for his grace. 9 ICF failures and 2 IUI failures and finally out of the blue got a normal pregency. Thanked all the gods in the world and now after 6 weeks into it Doc says they ae not seeing the embriyo and are seeing the SAC... This is devastating ... Hope i get a good result i am exhausted with all the ivfs mentally and physically .. let me post what i find after a week of v____al US again.. no spotting or pain and aslo no nasuea. Good luck to all in same situation and very eager to find the result

Carol - December 18

Ladies, I wanted to give you an update on my situation and to let you know that there is hope. If you remember I went to do an us at what I though was 6 weeks: empty sac them. Went back ina week: sac and 4 mm baby with a heartbeat. According to the size of the baby I am only now 6 weeks. It was so awsome not only to see the baby but to actually hear its hear beat. I will never have an ultrasound so early though. Not seeing the baby the first time put me through so much stress. We can't control the pregnancy anyway, so of the blood test confirms that you are pregnant don't do an ultrasound until you are at least 8 weeks along. It makes no sense unless you are suspecting an ectopic pregnancy. Good luck to you all and congrats to those of you who got the good news.
