Ladies - all of the information you have given to me through your words of wisdom and similar situations has made me feel so much more informed - and not alone. I am 32 yrs old and have been trying to have a baby for 2 years. I missed my period and took 2 preg tests Saturday, 1 Sunday and 1 today - all are possitive. Unfortunatly, I began spotting yesterday morning and it hasn't stopped yet. The discharge is brown and mucus like. It also seems to to be in very small clumps - this really concerns me - could this be tissue? The discharge really only appears when I wipe - barly can see a trace on a pad. What do you think this is?? I went to the doctor today who gave me an exam and said my uterus is enlarged. He also sent me for bllod work today to test HCG levels. Thursday I'll have more bloodwork done and an u/s. I'm very nervous - but trying to stay hopeful. Any thoughts any of you have will be welcome!

If you really want to get pregnant I really suggest just forgeting about a baby. For real, just convince or brain wash your self that you don't want a baby right now. Find some excuse of why you would maybe not want a child right now and you will end up pregnant. I swear. I tried and tried with both of my daughters, when wanting a child, it never came. As soon as something would come up or if I just gave up on getting pregnant, I got pregnant. I think the stress of ttc can affect your chances. We learned about immagination and pretending in our early stages of life. Use that just pretend and tell yourself everyday all day long that you don't want to be tied down right now, and make yourself believe it. You'll be prego before you know it. The point of it is letting the ttc stress go so you can have a good s_x life and let it just happen on its own.

my period should start on may 28 but i am 50 days late today and i usually start at day 30~33.Urine tests on day 36~40 were negative.Vagina USG on day 40 was negative too. But I am starting brownish spotting especially in the morning for past one week and minor abdominal cramps. This is really scaring me. My husband and i are trying for a second child but i had bad blighted ovum a year ago and 4th month missed abortion due to heart failure 2 years ago.Is it possible that I am pregnant? what should i do now?

I have the same thing at 6 weeks. The doctor did an US and everything is okay. He said not to worry but take it easy with no s_x or exercise until the next visit. I did have to get a Rhogam shot though because my husband and I are two different blood types. That is something you may want to check on.

I have heard that brown blood is OK. I had the same thing early in my pregnancy. And my other friends that are pregnant have had spotting, too, and are both OK. Mine was implantation bleeding. One friend had the same thing. Another had one day of bright blood, and she is still fine. It's good to tell the doctor, though, so they can either test your hcg levels, give you an ultrasound, or get you in sooner than 10 weeks, which is when I'm scheduled for my first appointment. Good luck!!! It's sooooo nerve wracking. After I saw the heartbeat yesterday, though, I feel a thousand times better...

I began spotting lightly on Monday. I went to the dr on friday and it was found that I had a blighted ovum. I am in my ninth week. I am scheduled for a d&c on next Wednesday. I am still in a state of shock but my two little ones sure help when I look at them.

I am 8w2d with brown spotting daily (mornings) since 5w5d. I had a normal u/s at 7w4d with a fetal heart rate in mid 130s. The drs staff has told me this could continue throughout the first trimester and not to worry unless it becomes red/heavy. I also had and would recommend asking for for BV and yeast infection tests as these can be contributors to spotting/discharge. I am still worried but getting used to it . . . also wondering if the spotting could be related to my c-section with prior healthy pregnancy 2 yrs ago. Anybody have a similar experience? Best of luck to all.

I have had brown spotting that sometimes has brown mucous for about a week and a half now. My doctor doesn't seem that worried but I'm starting to get worried. I may call my Dr to move up my appointment just to make sure everything is OK. It's pretty intermittent - some time it's fine, other times it's more heavy, but is only when I wipe and inconsistent throughout the day. No cramping...no pain, just brown spotting.

Kelley - June 27

I am here not to talk about my spotting bu for lack there of. I read that you spot when implantation occurs. I had none of that. I have not experienced any spotting and I am currently 8 weekes. My doctor appt isn't until the 14th, and a lack of symptoms seems worse than a symptom. I had a miscarriage in March of 2004. With the miscarriage it was gushing blood though. I have taken 2 hpt. Wondering if I should take another one?

2nd Time Mom - June 27

For Kelley - I had no spotting with 1st preg except 24 hrs after a pap smear around 8 wks, so implantation bleeding or spotting is not a given. I'm reading that spotting happens to about 20% of women during 1st trimester. After your experience, I can see why you'd be worried. Hang in there! I have a 12 wk u/s on 7/20 so I sympathize with the waiting. Good luck!

Lilly - June 28

I am 9w1d and I started spotting yesterday morning. It was light brown and only there when i wiped. I called the doctor and he said not to worry unless it was heavy bleeding or accompanied with cramping. I felt better. But then today the spotting was a little worse. Still not bad though, it was pinkish brown and there were clumps this time. I got really worried and called my mom. She said that with my older sister she had the same thing. She rea__sured me that it's can be common for soem women to spot. But I am still terrified because this is my first...I know NOTHING. And the doctor doesn't like to see anybody before 10-12 weeks. My appointment isn't until July 20th, so maybe I will learn more then!

Lilly, if your concerned about it you better go in, that is also a sign of misscarriage.. sometimes the beginning of one can be pinkish instead of red... Yes spotting is normal, but when it changes from light brown spotting you really should go see a doctor..

Hi Everyone, I'm glad to know that I am not a freak, even though I feel like one. I went and had an ultrasound yesterday, after I had one spot last Friday. Since then, I have been getting quite a bit of brown blood with small particles in it. I have not had anything in my urine, only when I wipe. I have had two previous m/c's the first of which I had only a few episodes of brown blood and than a flood, which landed me in the hospital, because I had clots in the opening of my uterus, which would not allow it to contract. I am going crazy right now. I saw the heartbeat yesterday, at 5 wks 6 days 100 bpm, which the doc said was ok but not great. He called it a threatened miscarriage. When I talked to him a little while ago, he indicated that there was nothing that we could do and that I would have to wait until my appointment next Tuesday. My husband tells me, which I know to be true, that only God can handle it now and I need to calm down and take things as they come. I just can't stay steadily calm, I keep feeling crazy. Thank You to everyone who has posted, it shows me a little hope.
