There is some small risk, if the sperm should be particularly long lived or your ovulation unexpectedly early. The fertile window is usually quoted as being Cycle Days 8 thru 16 of 28. Add or subtract days to those numbers for each day your cycle differs from 28. The safest unprotected s_x is in the last week of the cycle, even safer if you follow your signs of ovulation and know that it happened at the expected time. GL!

Spotting a week after your period ends is sometimes interpreted as "ovulation spotting", where the follicle that releases the egg bleeds just a little. Spotting one week before your next period is due can be interpreted as implantation spotting. You don't say how much s_xual experience you have, but I am thinking it is little. If your recent experience involved rupturing the hymen, maybe some spotting could come from that. GL!

Most women do not notice mid-cycle ovulation spotting, or only occasionally. A mid-cycle cramp or two is more often noticed. It is not an indication of pregnancy.
