I am 9 weeks pregnant with my fourth child. I had an ultrasound done at 6w5d to rule out an ectopic pregnancy as I have had one previously. They did both an abdominal and trans-va___al ultrasound and were able to find a fetal pole but no fetal heart rate. Baby measure 6w1d. My midwife stated that is could simply be too early to detect a heart rate and schedule me last Thursday for a repeat ultrasound. Again, no fetal heart rate was found and baby measured only 6w3d. I had blood work drawn on Thursday and it came back 29,052. We repeated the blood work Saturday and it had only gone up to 29,265. My midwife said that she believes that it is placental tissue that is now feeding the HcG levels and has referred me to my local Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit. I am trying to be optimistic but at the same time see the need of being realistic. Has anyone had anything similar during any of their pregnancies? If so did you end up miscarrying? Thank-you.
