Is there such a thing as a male having an x or y chromosome deficiency so that he can only have children of one s_x? Are there any diseases which could cause this?

I knew a guy who told me that his doctor told him that he would never be able to make a male. However the doctors didn't tell him until after he had 5 girls.......The only reason he told me was because I was joking and I said " so I guess you're gonna keep trying for that boy huh?" I felt bad for saying that after he told me.
