Does My Cat Know I M Pregnant

I know for sure that I'm pregnant, I'm about 10 weeks along & for the past few days my cat has been treating me very differently. My cat is a very independent little man, he is not the typical lap cat, he doesn't even come when I call him, even if he's sitting in the same room, it's just the way he is. But, one thing he loves is to be held like a baby and rubbed under his chin & on top of his head. Before a few days ago, every time I would pick him up and hold him like a baby and rub him on his head he would almost fall asleep and purr and purr, but now that is not the case. The past couple days when I have even tried to pet him he is just very stand-offish & when I try to pick him up & hold him like a baby he growls at me! I've been reading articles online about how cats can become very loving & cuddle up to a woman's belly during pregnancy, but I have read nothing about cat's being mean & stand-offish. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. I'm thinking that most of it may have to do with him not being neutered, but he's never acted like this with me before. He's a little over a year old & I've had him since he was 6 weeks old. I call him my cat son & myself his protector. He got hit by a car when he was 3 months old & I held him & kept him warm throughout the night & ever since he's been my baby when he wants to be, & now that he wants nothing to do with me & it's really starting to worry me. I'm definitely getting him neutered before the baby comes, but if he doesn't act differently after that I'm going to have to make him strictly be an outside cat for fear of him treating my baby the same way & potentially harming the baby. Also, this might be a little far fetched, but I was wondering if his sudden change of att_tude has to do with him sensing the s_x of my baby. Like I said, I'm about 10 weeks along which means that my baby has now developed it's genitalia. I've had the distinct feeling that I'm having a boy, the same feeling I had when I was pregnant with my daughter & I just knew I was having a girl long before I ever found out for sure that I was in fact having a little girl. So, I'm wondering if because my cat is an un-neutered male & he senses that I have a male inside me, he is being somewhat mean to me. It would make sense because it's the same exact way he has acted to any other unfixed male he has come in contact with, dog or cat. Just recently he chased another unfixed male cat away from our house. Any thoughts?

Also, he is not acting like this with my boyfriend or my daughter, he is only treating me like this. He is his normal "cat self" with everyone else, but me. Makes me sad :(

I'm sure the pheromones you are giving off have changed, as has what attracts you. Does your man smell different? Don't worry about the baby until you see how cat reacts.
